CPO Ross Dodes
As per brother Scott, recently
promoted to Chief Petty Officer.
CPO Ross Dodes, son of Sandy and the
late Ron Dodes, has been in the Navy since August 1987. He had
basic training at Great Lakes and schooling in Millington, Tennessee.
He has been stationed in Diego Garcia (AIMD), Iceland (VP26),
Maine (VP8 and VP23), Detroit (recruiting), Spain, Germany, Italy,
Greece, Colombia, Ecua-dor, Panama, Philippines and Texas.
He is trained to repair the skins and
structure of airplanes.

Cpl. David Patrick
Cpl. David Patrick, a 2000 graduate of Homer High School,
is currently serving with the United States Marine Corps as a combat
engineer for the 7th ESB B-Company, stationed at Camp Pendleton,
California. He was recently deployed to the Kuwaiti region. Patrick,
20, is the son of Dave and Abby Patrick of Homer and Mark and Dawn
Popa of Florida. Anyone wishing to send cards or write letters of

Cpl. Kyle Wildt
Cpl. Kyle James Wildt, a 1998 graduate of Litchfield High
School, is currently a senior at Spring Arbor University. Wildt
is a U.S. Marine Corps reservist who was moved to active duty February
27. He has been in the Marine Corps for four-and-a-half years. He
was set to be married to Karen Howell, a 1999 graduate of Springport
High School (also a senior at Spring Arbor University) September
13. When he learned of his activation he and Howell were married
February 25 and he reported for duty the 27. Wildt is with the 4th
Division, 1st Battalion, 24th Marines, Co. C., with current destination
unknown. Wildt is the son of Darcy Wildt of Lansing and James and
Linda Kay Wildt of Litchfield. |

L.Cpl. James Williams
L.Cpl. James Williams, son of Dalice and Janet Williams
of Litchfield, is currently serving in Kuwait as water superintendent
for the United States Marine Corps. He is a 2002 graduate of Litchfield

S.Sgt. Lonny Koons
S.Sgt. Lonny Koons is currently serving with A Company,
1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry Regiment (MECHANIZED), Fort Hood, Texas,
as a dismount squad leader. He is the son of William and Marlene
Koons of Homer and is married to the former Kris Gottschalk of North
Branch. The couple has three children: Emily, Autumn and William.
Koons is currently preparing to attend Air Assault School at Fort
Campbell, Kentucky. |

S.Sgt. Jerry Reynolds
S.Sgt. Jerry L. Reynolds, son of Jerry Reynolds and Ruth
McMullen, both of Litchfield, is stationed in Germany with his wife
Chasity and their children, Kayla and Kyle. Reynolds, 31, has been
in the Army for 14 years. He may be contacted at HHD 709th Military

S.Sgt. James E. Russell
S.Sgt. James E. Russell, Jr., a member of the United States
Air Force, is the son of Jim and April Russell and Ron and Helen
Miller, all of Homer. He has two sisters, Jennifer Russell of Homer
and Jessica Russell of Hillsdale. He and his wife Rebecca have a
daughter, Elizabeth Jade, and they reside at Pope A.F.B. in North
Carolina. Russell's unit is the 380 ELRS/ATOC (Air Terminal Operations
Center). He is currently in the Middle East region in support of
operations Enduring Freedom and Southern Watch. This is his second
deployment to the region. His job is load planning, loading and
offloading of military cargo planes. He has been in the service
for six years. He graduated from Homer High School in 1992. Russell's
grandparents are Don and Nora Russell of Tekonsha and Hilaria Luna
and the late Rudy Luna of Marshall. He may be contacted by e-mail

Cadet Kathryn Pinter
Cadet Kathryn Pinter, a 1998 graduate of Litchfield High
School, is set to graduate from Western Michigan University in April
with a BS degree in education, with a secondary math major and a
science minor. She has been a member of the ROTC since 1999 and
with the Army National Guard in Grand Ledge from 2000-03. Pinter
is presently a Cadet and is to be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant
April 26. She has been accepted to Rotor Wing flight school at Ft.
Rucker, Alabama, to become a Blackhawk helicopter pilot. She is
the daughter of John and Ruth Pinter of Litchfield. |

L.Cpl. Boston Blair
L.Cpl. Boston Lee Blair, 19, of Jonesville (formerly of
Litch-field), is currently stationed in Kuwait City, Kuwait. He
has been in service for 18 months. He is the son of Billy and Amber
(Beattie) Blair and the brother of Amanda Blair, all of Jonesville.
Grandparents are Bill and Sue Blair of Albion and Steve and Opal
Morgan of Litchfield. Aunts and uncles are Tim and Lisa Howell of
Homer, Scott and Kim Shiery of Albion, Dane and Teresa Fogg
of Homer and Shane Morgan of Litchfield. |

Ens. Paul Salvette
Ens. Paul Albert Salvette, 22, of Ann Arbor, joined
the United States Navy after graduation from UCLA in the spring
of 2002. Now at Nuclear Engineering
Training in South Carolina, he will be assigned as a nuclear engineering
officer on a nuclear powered aircraft carrier or submarine after
completion of his training. His parents are John and Emily Salvette
of Ann Arbor. Grandparents are Clayton and Monica Hopp of Homer.
Great-grandmother is Louise Williams of Homer.

Pfc. Franklin Hubbard
Pfc. Franklin Hubbard is a 1999 Litchfield High School
graduate who is serving in the 101st Airborne presently stationed
in Kuwait. He is the son of Steve and Arlean Hubbard. Cards and

1st Lt. John Pinter II
1st Lt. John Michael Pinter, II, a 1997 graduate of Litchfield
High School, was a student at the United States Military Academy
at West Point and graduated in June 2001 with a BS in civil engineering.
He is a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army and serves as Fire Directional
Officer with B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment,
1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, Texas, and is currently being deployed
to the Middle East. He has had multiple deployments, including National
Training Center in the Mojave Desert, Fort Irwin, California and
Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He is the
son of John and Ruth Pinter of Litchfield. |

A1C Brock Beebe
Airman 1st Class Brock T. Beebe graduated from Homer High
School in 2001 and joined the Air Force in June of the same year.
Beebe is an Avionics Technician for F-16 Aircraft and is now stationed
at Kuwait Air Force Base, where he received Airman of the
Month for his squad. His wife, Sarah, is awaiting his return at
Clovis Air Force Base in New Mexico. Beebe is the son of Scott and
Diane Beebe, son-in-law of Ray and Brenda Wirebaugh, grandson of
Keith and Geraldine Scholttman, all of Homer, and grandson of Lee
and Rose Beebe of Marshall. |

L.Cpl. James Hyde
L.Cpl. James Hyde, son of Larry and Portia Hyde of Homer,
is currently stationed at Camp LeJeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina,
awaiting deployment. He is a 1998 graduate of Homer High School
and earned an associate degree in automotive technology through
the Chrysler Apprenticeship Pro-gram from Ferris State University.
He joined the United States Marine Corps in April 2001. He is a
member of the 3rd Battalion, Sixth Marines, H&S Co., Motor Transport,
2nd Marine Division. His primary duties are to maintain and repair

Sgt. E-5 Early Jones
Sgt. E-5. Early P. Jones, son of Jack and Pat Jones of
Litchfield, has been with the National Guard Unit out of Jackson
for the past eight years and is currently deployed with the 1460th
Transportation Co. out of Midland. He is stationed at Ft. McCoy
in Wisconsin. Early has a 14-month-old son, Shane Michael Patrick,
whose mother is Mia. Other relatives include two brothers, Rob (Sarah)
Jones and family, and Adam Jones, a 16-year veteran, who is stationed
in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the naval base; a grandmother, Marjorie
Harris of Litchfield; and aunts and uncles from the Litchfield,
Concord and Hillsdale area. Early is a 1995 graduate of Litchfield
