First Baptist is very recognizable in downtown Litchfield.

The people at First Baptist Church of Litchfield have a motto that defines their purpose: “ Preaching the Bible as it is, to people as they are.”

“ With the church's roots going back to 1838, we have a long and rich history, but our focus is not our history, but our future,” said Pastor Brent Stille. “This community and others around us are growing and changing, and we want to be a part of reaching this area of Hillsdale County with the love of God and the gospel of Christ.”

In a world where the culture seems to have more of an influence on the church than the church on the culture, First Baptist is endeavoring to be a church that has an influence on our culture. Not by being like it, but by being different from it in order to make a difference.

“ At First Baptist we believe that God's Word to mankind still has the answers to the most current needs that face the heart of man and the contemporary culture in which we live,” Pastor Stille noted. “ We preach without apology the old fashion gospel of Jesus Christ and that His work on the cross of Calvary for us is our only hope of being made right with God Almighty.”

“ Our hope is that you will come join us for a service and see what God has for you from His Word. Visit us on our web site at litchfieldfirstbaptist.org

“ It is with great anticipation that we look toward our future. Because of our present growth and the vision of this congregation over the past 10 years, we are looking forward to building a new facility just east of town on Litchfield Road. Our outlook is strong and our future is bright as we look to this opportunity in the next few years. This will give us more auditorium space and a more efficient layout to better serve our Lord and our community,” Pastor Stille said.
